Swimming lessons are going swimmingly

We are nearing the end of Arlo's first session of swimming lessons. I have to say that signing him up for the lessons was one of the best decisions we could have made. We heard about the program from a friend, and started doing some research on an Australian website (Uswim.com) about the method used to teach kids how to swim.

In addition to Arlo learning some basic water skills, Ryan and I have learned a lot. For example, a few weeks ago, the instructor starting started an exercise where the kids "fall" off the wall of the pool, the parent helps turn them toward the wall, and the baby puts his hands on the wall. Here's a video of Ryan and Arlo in action:

Arlo is the youngest in his class, but it's amazing how far he's come since his first lesson. He still needs to work on holding onto the wall and a few other skills, but he's learning fast.

These videos alone tell that Arlo has a very potential to be a skillful swimmer. It's great that he's been learning a lot from the lessons, and you're learning as well from the experience. Swimming lessons indeed serve their purpose of immersing the kids not only into swimming, but also into other big life lessons.
